South Australian Consolidated Regulations7—Powers of authorised persons
(1) If an authorised
person reasonably suspects that an animal (other than a guide dog)—
(a) has
been brought onto library premises or a part of library premises in breach of
these regulations; or
(b) is
interfering with, or is likely to interfere with any person's reasonable
enjoyment of library premises,
the authorised person may order that the owner or person in charge of the
animal remove the animal from the premises (or from a part of the premises)
or, if the owner or person in charge of the animal cannot be located in the
vicinity, may remove the animal from the premises (or part of them).
(2) An authorised
person may order a person reasonably suspected of having committed an offence
on library premises—
(a) to
state truthfully his or her full name and usual place of residence; or
(b) to
leave the library premises.
(3) A person must not,
without reasonable excuse, refuse or fail to comply with an order issued by an
authorised person under this regulation.
Maximum penalty: $500.
(4) If a person who is
ordered to leave library premises under this regulation fails to comply with
that order, an authorised person may exercise reasonable force to remove the
person.
(5) A person who has
been ordered to leave library premises on a particular day must not re-enter
the premises on that day.
