South Australian Consolidated Regulations55—Cessation of duty without notice
A teacher who ceases duty with the Department without giving written notice of
resignation as required under the preceding provisions of this Division—
(a)
shall be deemed to have resigned from the teaching service on the day on which
he or she was last on active duty; and
(b) may
be required to pay to the Minister a sum determined by the Minister and not
exceeding six weeks salary of that teacher and the money may be recovered by
the Minister by action in a court of competent jurisdiction as a debt due and
owing to the Minister.
