South Australian Consolidated Acts10—Victim entitled to have impact of offence considered by sentencing
court and to make submissions on parole
(1) A victim is
entitled to have any injury, loss or damage suffered as a result of the
offence considered by the sentencing court before it passes sentence 1 .
(2) A victim of an
offence is entitled to make written submissions to the Parole Board on
questions affecting the parole of a person imprisoned for the offence. 2

1 Section 7A of the Criminal Law (Sentencing)
Act 1988 provides a mechanism for exercising this right. See also section
7 of that Act under which the prosecutor is obliged to place before the
sentencing court details of injury, loss or damage resulting from the offence.
