TECHNICAL AND FURTHER EDUCATION ACT 1975 - SECT 27
(1) Where, in the
opinion of the Chief Executive Officer, the nature or circumstances of any
matter alleged against an officer are such that the officer should not
continue in the performance of his or her duties, the Chief Executive Officer
may suspend the officer.
(2) A suspension under
subsection (1) may be given whether or not the officer has been charged
with an offence.
(3) Unless the
employing authority otherwise determines, a person suspended under this
section is entitled to his or her salary in respect of the period of
suspension.
(4) Where a direction
has been given under subsection (3), and the guilt of the suspended
officer of the matter alleged against that officer is not established by due
process of law, he or she is entitled to receive the salary to which he or she
would have been entitled if there had been no direction under
subsection (3).
