TAXATION ADMINISTRATION ACT 1996 - SECT 16

16—Refund resulting from assessment

If the result of an assessment of a taxpayer's tax liability is that the taxpayer has overpaid tax, the Commissioner must, subject to Part 4, refund the amount of the tax overpaid.
