South Australian Consolidated Acts (1) The rules of a
registered housing co-operative may provide for the imposition of membership
fees.
(2) The rules may
provide for different levels of fees according to different classes of
membership.
(3) Subject to
subsections (4) and (5), a member is not entitled to vote on any question
arising for decision at a meeting of the co-operative unless his or her
membership fees have been paid.
(4)
Subsection (3) does not apply—
(a) if a
unanimous resolution is required; or
(b) if
the co-operative has resolved that the member can exercise a vote
notwithstanding that his or her fees have not been paid.
(5) A co-operative
may, in an appropriate case, remit the membership fee payable by a person
wholly or in part.
