South Australian Consolidated Acts (1) A member of the
Council who has a direct or indirect personal or pecuniary interest in any
matter before the Council must disclose the nature of the interest to the
Council before, or as soon as practicable after, the matter arises for
consideration.
Penalty: $2 000.
(2) A disclosure under
this section must be recorded in the minutes of the Council.
(3) If a matter
arising before the Council (other than a question of general principle)
affects a member's personal or pecuniary interests directly or indirectly, the
member must abstain from voting on that matter.
Penalty: $2 000.
