South Australian Consolidated Acts (1) A member of the
Council will be appointed for a term not exceeding three years and will, on
the expiration of a term of appointment, be eligible for reappointment.
(2) The Governor may
remove a member of the Council for—
(a)
misconduct; or
(b)
neglect of duty; or
(c)
incompetence; or
(d)
mental or physical incapacity to carry out official duties satisfactorily.
(3) The office of a
member of the Council becomes vacant if the member—
(a)
dies; or
(b)
completes a term of office and is not reappointed; or
(c)
resigns by written notice to the Minister; or
(d) is
removed from office under subsection (2).
(4) When the office of
a member becomes vacant, a person must be appointed in accordance with this
Act to the vacant office.
