South Australian Consolidated Acts38—Board's approval required where podiatrist or podiatry student has
not practised for 5 years
(1) A
registered person who has not provided podiatric treatment of a kind
authorised by his or her registration for a period of 5 years or more must not
provide any such treatment for fee or reward without first obtaining the
approval of the Board.
Maximum penalty: $20 000.
(2) The Board—
(a) may,
before granting its approval under subsection (1), require the applicant
to obtain qualifications or experience specified by the Board and for that
purpose may require the applicant to undertake a specified course of
instruction or training in podiatry; and
(b) may
impose 1 or more of the following conditions on the applicant's registration:
(i)
a condition restricting the places and times at which the
applicant may provide podiatric treatment;
(ii)
a condition limiting the kind of podiatric treatment that
the applicant may provide;
(iii)
a condition requiring that the applicant be supervised in
the provision of podiatric treatment by a particular person or by a person of
a particular class;
(iv)
such other conditions as the Board thinks fit.
