PETROLEUM (SUBMERGED LANDS) ACT 1982 - SECT 127
127—Suspension of right conferred by permit
(1) Where the Minister
is satisfied that it is necessary to do so in the public interest, he shall,
by instrument in writing served on the permittee or lessee, suspend, either
for a specified period or indefinitely, all or any of the rights conferred by
the permit or lease.
(2) Where any rights
are suspended in accordance with subsection (1), any conditions required
to be complied with in the exercise of those rights are also suspended.
(3) The Minister may,
by instrument in writing served on the permittee or lessee, terminate a
suspension of rights under subsection (1).
(4) Where rights
conferred by a permit or lease are suspended in accordance with
subsection (1), the Minister may, by the instrument of suspension or by a
later instrument in writing served on the permittee or lessee, extend the term
of the permit or lease by a period not exceeding the period of the suspension.
