South Australian Consolidated Acts (1) For the purpose of
avoiding multiplicity of proceedings, the State Minister and the
Commonwealth Minister may enter into an arrangement (a
"cross-vesting scheme") providing reciprocal powers for the transfer of
proceedings involving native title questions between the Court and
Commonwealth authorities with power to adjudicate on native title questions.
(2) If proceedings are
transferred to a Commonwealth authority under a cross-vesting scheme, the
Commonwealth authority has, subject to the conditions of the scheme,
jurisdiction to decide native title questions and also other questions arising
in the proceedings.
