MOTOR VEHICLES ACT 1959 - SECT 60
60—Cancellation of registration where failure to transfer after change
of ownership
(1) If no application
for the cancellation or transfer of the registration of a motor vehicle has
been lodged—
(a)
within 14 days after the transfer of ownership of the vehicle; or
(b)
where the Registrar has, under section 57(4), extended the time for the
lodgement of an application to transfer the registration, within that time,
the Registrar may cancel the registration.
(2) The Registrar
must, after cancelling the registration, on application by the transferee,
make any refund required under the regulations.
