MOTOR VEHICLES ACT 1959 - SECT 126
126—Duty of insured not to litigate or negotiate claim
An insured person must not, without the consent in writing of the insurer
concerned—
(a)
enter upon, or incur any expense in, any litigation; or
(b) make
any offer or promise of payment or settlement; or
(c) make
any payment or settlement; or
(d) make
any admission of liability; or
(e)
authorise the repair of the motor vehicle, or dismantle, or wilfully cause
damage to, the motor vehicle,
in respect of any claim in respect of which the person is insured with that
insurer, but this provision does not prevent any person from truthfully
answering any question reasonably asked of the person by any police officer.
