South Australian Consolidated Acts585—Power of council to establish cemetery, crematorium and mortuary
(1) The council must,
if of opinion that there is no adequate provision (whether within or outside
the area) for the burial of persons dying within the area, make such provision
by the establishment of a public cemetery.
(2) The council may
establish a crematorium and may, subject to the Cremation Act 1891 ,
permit and control the cremation of the dead in it.
(3) The council may
establish and manage public mortuaries for the temporary repose of the dead
pending burial or cremation.
