HARBORS AND NAVIGATION ACT 1993 - SECT 75
(1) If an accident
involving a vessel occurs in the jurisdiction and the accident results in loss
of life or personal injury or in damage to property (except minor injury or
damage excluded by regulation from the ambit of this section), the accident
must be reported to the CE or an authorised person as soon as reasonably
practicable but in any event within 48 hours.
(2) A report under
subsection (1) must include such particulars as may be required by the
regulations, the CE or the authorised person.
(3) If a report is not
made as required by this section, the owner and operator of the vessel are
each guilty of an offence.
Maximum penalty: $2 500.
Expiation fee: $210.
