South Australian Consolidated Acts12—Appointment of authorised persons
(1) The CEO may
appoint suitable persons to be authorised persons for the purposes of this
Act.
(1a) The CEO may, with
the agreement of a port operator, appoint an officer or employee of the
operator to be an authorised person in relation to the relevant port.
(1b) The CEO may, with
the concurrence of a council, appoint an officer or employee of the council to
be an authorised person for the purposes of this Act.
(2) An appointment
under this section may be subject to conditions, including a condition
limiting the exercise of powers by the authorised person to the enforcement of
specified provisions of the Act or to enforcement within a specified area of
the State.
(3) An
authorised person appointed under this section must be issued with an identity
card—
(a)
containing a photograph of the person; and
(b) if
the authorised person's authority is limited to a particular
port—stating the name of the port; and
(c)
stating any conditions of appointment limiting the authorised person's
authority.
