South Australian Consolidated Acts25—Powers of arrest of inspectors
(1) An inspector may
arrest without warrant any person—
(a) who
hinders or assaults an inspector or a person accompanying or assisting an
inspector; or
(b)
where he has reason to believe that the person has committed an offence
against this Act and—
(i)
failed to state truthfully his name or usual place of
residence when required to do so; or
(ii)
would fail to attend court in answer to a summons issued
in respect of the offence; or
(iii)
would continue or repeat the offence if not arrested.
(2) Where a person is
arrested under subsection (1), an inspector shall forthwith bring the
person, or cause him to be brought, before a Justice of the Peace or other
proper authority to be dealt with in accordance with the law.
(3) Nothing in this
section prevents the arrest of a person in accordance with any other law.
