South Australian Consolidated Acts21—Identity cards and their production
(1) The Minister
shall, subject to subsection (2), issue to every inspector an identity
card stating the name of that person and the fact that he is an inspector
under this Act.
(2) The issue of an
identity card is not required in the case of an inspector who is a member of
the police force of the State.
(3) An inspector
shall, upon demand by any person in relation to whom he is exercising or
proposing to exercise any of his powers under this Act, produce his identity
card, or where the inspector is a member of the police force not in uniform,
his warrant card, for the inspection of that person.
(4) Where a person in
possession of an identity card issued to him under subsection (1) ceases
to be an inspector, he shall forthwith return the identity card to the
Minister.
Penalty: One thousand dollars.
