South Australian Consolidated Acts (1) Where in the
opinion of the Director-General the nature or circumstances of any matter
alleged against an officer are such that the officer should not continue in
the performance of his duties, the Director-General may suspend the officer.
(2) A suspension under
subsection (1) may be made whether or not the officer has been charged
with an offence.
(3) Unless the
employing authority otherwise determines, a person suspended under this
section shall be entitled to his salary in respect of the period of
suspension.
(4) Where a direction
has been given under subsection (3) and the guilt of the suspended
officer of the matter alleged against him is not established by due process of
law, he shall be entitled to receive the salary to which he would have been
entitled if there had been no direction under subsection (3).
