CRIMINAL LAW (SENTENCING) ACT 1988 - SECT 6

6—Determination of sentence

For the purpose of determining sentence, a court—

            (a)         is not bound by the rules of evidence; and

            (b)         may inform itself on matters relevant to the determination as it thinks fit.
