South Australian Consolidated Acts (1) If the State
Coroner is notified of a death under the Coroners Act 2003 or is
inquiring into the cause of a death, the State Coroner must, as soon as
practicable, notify the Registrar of that fact.
(2) If the State
Coroner authorises the disposal of human remains, or makes a finding about the
cause of a death, the State Coroner must give a copy of the disposal
authorisation or the finding to the Registrar.
(3) The Registrar may
register a death even though the death is subject to an inquest or other
coronial inquiry and a finding has not been made about the cause of death.
(4) A certificate by
the Registrar, certifying particulars contained in an entry about a death in
the Register, issued before an inquest or other coronial inquiry into the
cause of death is completed must be endorsed with the words: "Incomplete
registration—Cause of death subject to coronial inquiry".
