BIRTHS, DEATHS AND MARRIAGES REGISTRATION ACT 1996 - SECT 26

26—Child's consent to change of name

A change of a child's name must not be registered unless—

            (a)         the child consents to the change of name; or

            (b)         the child is unable to understand the meaning and implications of the change of name.
