743J Eligibility

A person is eligible for appointment as a costs assessor only if the person is—

(a) an Australian lawyer who has at least 5 years experience in either or both of the following—

(i) the practice of law;

(ii) the assessment of costs; and

(b) a fit and proper person to assess costs.
