(1) This rule applies if a party intends to apply to the court
for an award of interest, whether under the Civil Proceedings Act 2011, part
8 or otherwise.
(2) This rule does not apply to a proceeding for damages for
personal injury or death.
(3) The party must allege in the party’s pleading
particulars of—
(a) the amount or amounts on which the interest is claimed;
and
(b) the interest rate or rates claimed; and
(c) the day or days from
which interest is claimed; and
(d) the method of calculation.
(4) However,
the rate or rates of interest need not be separately specified if the party is
claiming at the rate or rates specified in a practice direction.
