(1) A defendant may defend a proceeding by a solicitor or in person.
(2) However, if a defendant is a person under a legal incapacity, the defendant may defend the proceeding only by the person’s litigation guardian.Note—See rule 93 (Litigation guardian of person under a legal incapacity).
(3) In this rule—
"defend" includes file a notice of intention to defend.
