(1) This section applies to the owner of a referable dam to which this part
applies if a flood event relating to the dam happens.
(2) The owner of the
dam must, unless the owner has a reasonable excuse, prepare a report (a
"flood event report" ) under this division and give it to the chief executive
within—
(a) 30 business days after the end of the flood event; or
(b) if a
further period is agreed in writing by the chief executive and the owner of
the dam—the further period.
Penalty—
Maximum penalty—1,665 penalty
units.
(3) In this section—
"end" , of a flood event, means 24 hours after the last occasion that water is
released from the dam in response to the flood event.
