(1) If the chief executive reasonably believes a person has contravened, or is
contravening, a prescribed provision, the chief executive may give a notice (a
"compliance notice" ) to the person requiring the person to do either or both
of the following—
(a) to refrain from contravening the prescribed provision;
(b) to remedy the contravention in the way stated in the notice.
(2) The
compliance notice must include or be accompanied by an information notice for
the decision to give the person a compliance notice.
