WATER ACT 2000 - SECT 550

550 Water authority is a body corporate etc.

(1) A water authority—

(a) is a body corporate; and

(b) has a seal; and

(c) may sue and be sued in its corporate name.

(2) A water authority has all the powers of an individual and may, for example—

(a) enter into contracts; and

(b) acquire, hold, deal with and dispose of property.

(3) Subsection (2) does not limit a water authority’s powers under this or another Act.

(4) A water authority does not represent the State.
