(3) A
"parent secondary victim" , of an act of violence, is a person who—
(a) is a
parent of a child who is injured as a direct result of the act being committed
against the child; and
(b) is injured as a direct result of becoming aware of
the act.
(4) A
"witness secondary victim" , of an act of violence, is a person who is injured
as a direct result of witnessing the act.
(5) A
"related victim" , of an act of violence, is a person who is a
close family member, or a dependant, of a primary victim of the act who has
died as a direct result of the act.
(6) However, a person is not a victim of
an act of violence, of a kind mentioned in subsections (1) to (5) , if the
person committed the act.
(7) In this section—
"close family member" , of a primary victim of an act of violence who has died
as a direct result of the act, means a family member of the primary victim who
had a genuine personal relationship with the primary victim when the
primary victim died.
