Restrictions on appointing authorised persons
111A Restrictions on appointing authorised persons
(1) The chief executive may appoint a person as an authorised person, other
than a transit officer, only if— (a) in the chief executive’s opinion, the
person has the necessary expertise or experience to be an authorised person;
or
(b) the person has satisfactorily finished training approved by the chief
executive.
(2) The chief executive may appoint a person as a transit officer
only if— (a) in the chief executive’s opinion— (i) the person can be
appointed as an authorised person under subsection (1) ; and
(ii) the person
is suitable to be a transit officer, having regard to the matters mentioned in
section 111B ; and
(b) the person has satisfactorily finished transit officer
training.
