The rules committee
223 The rules committee
(1) The president must establish a rules committee consisting of the following
members— (a) the president;
(b) the deputy president;
(c) a senior member
or ordinary member who is appointed on a full-time basis;
(d) a member who is
not an Australian lawyer;
(e) other members or adjudicators the president
considers appropriate.
(2) The president is the chairperson of the rules
committee.
(3) The functions of the rules committee include— (a) developing
and reviewing the rules under this Act; and
(b) approving forms for use under
this Act; and
(c) the other functions conferred on the rules committee under
this Act or an enabling Act that is an Act.
(4) The rules committee may
conduct its business and proceedings at meetings in the way it decides.
(5)
However, the chairperson has a deliberative vote and, in the event of an
equality of votes, a casting vote.
