Queensland Consolidated Acts(1) The Supreme Court or, if the District Court has made or is making a protection order under section 67, the District Court, in and by a protection order or from time to time, may, in its discretion--
(a) except from the estate to be taken possession of and controlled and managed by the public trustee any part or parts of the estate of the protected person, and permit such part or parts to remain in the uncontrolled possession of the protected person, or, if there appear to the court special reasons for so doing, of some other person;
(b) give its opinion, advice or direction on any matter referred to it by the public trustee;
(c) on the application of the public trustee or of any person having a proper interest, authorise or direct any action in regard to the protected estate or any other property of the protected person, including extending the application of the protection order to property not previously subject to it.
(2) Jurisdiction given to the District Court under subsection (1) extends only in relation to the protected person.
(3) The Supreme Court's jurisdiction is not limited by the jurisdiction conferred on the District Court under subsection (1).
