Queensland Consolidated Acts Queensland Consolidated ActsAn offender convicted summarily may, instead of being sentenced to punishment to which the offender is liable, be released if the offender enters into a recognisance, with or without sureties, in such amount as the court considers appropriate, on the conditions that the offender keep the peace and be of good behaviour for a period (not longer than 1 year) fixed by the court.
