(1) Subject to divisions 2
and 5, a reference in an Act or document to— (a) the 1923 Act is, if the
context permits, a reference to this Act; and
(b) a provision of the 1923 Act
is, if the context permits, a reference to the corresponding provision of this
Act.
(2) However, subsection (1) does not apply if the reference is in
relation to a 1923 Act petroleum tenure— (a) that, on 31 December 2004, does
not become a converted petroleum tenure; or
(b) until the tenure becomes a
replacement tenure, on or after the commencement of the Petroleum and Other
Legislation Amendment Act 2005.
