Board’s powers for inquiry
716 Board’s powers for inquiry
(1) A board of inquiry, in conducting its
inquiry, may if it considers it appropriate— (a) act in the absence of a
person given notice of the inquiry or some other reasonable notice; and
(b)
receive evidence on oath or by statutory declaration; and
(c) adjourn the
inquiry; and
(d) disregard a defect, error, omission or insufficiency in a
document.
(2) The chairperson of the board may administer an oath to a person
appearing as a witness before the inquiry.
