14 What is exploring for petroleum

"Exploring" , for petroleum, is carrying out an activity for the purpose of finding petroleum or natural underground reservoirs.

Examples—

• conducting a geochemical, geological or geophysical survey

• drilling a well

• carrying out testing in relation to a well

• taking a sample for chemical or other analysis
