(1) The ombudsman may delegate the ombudsman’s functions under this Act or
the Human Rights Act 2019, section 66to an appropriately qualified officer
of the ombudsman.
(2) However, the ombudsman may not delegate a function
under this Act to an officer of the ombudsman if the ombudsman as the
inspector of detention services has delegated a function to the officer under
the Inspector of Detention Services Act 2022.
