Queensland Consolidated Acts Queensland Consolidated Acts(1) A person may be appointed as ombudsman only if--
(a) the Minister has placed press advertisements nationally calling for applications from suitably qualified persons to be considered for appointment; and
(b) the Minister has consulted with the parliamentary committee about--
(i) the process of selection for appointment; and
(ii) the appointment of the person as ombudsman.
(2) Subsection (1)(a) and (b)(i) does not apply to the reappointment of a person as ombudsman.
