34 Investigation at agency premises
(1) The ombudsman may, on the giving of reasonable notice to the principal
officer of an agency, and at a reasonable time— (a) enter and inspect a
place occupied by the agency; and
(b) take into the place the persons,
equipment and materials the ombudsman reasonably requires for the
investigation; and
(c) take extracts from, or copy in any way, documents
located at the place; and
(d) require an officer of the agency at the place
to give the ombudsman reasonable help in exercising the powers mentioned in
paragraphs (a) to (c) .
(2) A person given a requirement under subsection (1)
(d) must comply with the requirement unless the person has a reasonable
excuse. Penalty— Maximum penalty for subsection (2) —100 penalty
units.
