(1) The Governor in Council may, under a regulation, revoke the dedication of
a forest reserve or a part of a forest reserve.
(2) The regulation may be
made only if the Legislative Assembly has, on a motion of which at least 28
days notice has been given, passed a resolution requesting the Governor in
Council to make the revocation.
(3) However, subsection (2) does not apply if
the regulation states the purpose of the revocation is to allow the forest
reserve to become a protected area.
(4) Also, subsection (2) does not affect
the power of the Governor in Council to make a regulation under the
Forestry Act 1959, section 25 to set apart and declare as a State forest any
forest reserve or part of a forest reserve.
