555 Appointment and qualifications
(1) The chief psychiatrist may, by
instrument in writing, appoint any of the following persons as inspectors—
(a) a public service employee of the department;
(b) a health service
employee;
(c) other persons prescribed by regulation.
(2) Also, the chief
psychiatrist may, by instrument in writing, appoint a health practitioner,
lawyer or another person as an inspector for investigating a matter under
chapter 10 , part 4 .
(3) However, the chief psychiatrist may appoint a
person as an inspector under subsection (1) or (2) only if the chief
psychiatrist is satisfied the person is appropriately qualified.
