Functions and powers of authorised person
87B Functions and powers of authorised person
(1) An authorised person has the following functions— (a) to monitor
compliance with this Act and the National Injury Act ;
(b) to investigate
suspected offences against this Act and the National Injury Act ;
(c) to
investigate, at the commission’s direction, claims against an insurer, and
liabilities that may be owed to an insurer, under this Act.
(2) An authorised
person has the powers given to the person under this Act or another Act.
(3)
An authorised person is subject to the commission’s directions in exercising
the authorised person’s powers.
(4) The powers of an authorised person may
be limited— (a) under a regulation; or
(b) under a condition of
appointment; or
(c) by written notice given by the commission to the
authorised person.
