Queensland Consolidated Acts Queensland Consolidated Acts(1) A person must not, without reasonable excuse, keep a class 1 or class 2 pest other than under a declared pest permit.
Maximum penalty--
(a) for a class 1 pest--800 penalty units; or
(b) for a class 2 pest--400 penalty units.
(2) A person does not commit an offence against subsection (1) if the person keeps the declared pest for identification by--
(a) for a declared pest that is an animal--Queensland Museum; or
(b) for a declared pest that is a plant--Queensland Herbarium.
