679 Establishment of Queensland Law Society
(1) The body corporate in existence before 1 July 2004 by the name of the
Queensland Law Society Incorporated as continued in existence under that name
by the Legal Profession Act 2004, section 508, is continued in existence
under this Act.
(2) The body may continue to refer to itself or be referred
to as the Queensland Law Society.
(3) The law society—
(a) is a body
corporate; and
(b) has perpetual succession; and
(c) has a common seal; and
(d) may sue and be sued in its corporate name.
(4) All courts and persons
acting judicially must take judicial notice of the imprint of the law
society’s seal appearing on a document and, until the contrary is proved,
must presume the seal was properly affixed.
