234 False or misleading information
(1) A person commits an offence if the person gives information for this Act
(either orally or in a document), that the person knows is false or misleading
in a material particular, to any of the following persons—
(g) the assessor or a member
of the staff of the Office of the Independent Assessor;
(h) an investigator;
(i) the conduct tribunal;
(j) the remuneration commission;
(k) the grants
commission.
Penalty—
Maximum penalty—100 penalty units.
Note—
In certain circumstances this section is a relevant integrity
provision for the offence against section 201D—see section 201D(2) ,
definition relevant integrity provision .
(2) However, the person does not
commit an offence in relation to information in a document if, when the person
gives the document to the other person—
(a) the person tells the other
person that the document is false or misleading, and in what respect the
document is false or misleading; and
(b) if the person has, or can reasonably
obtain, the correct information—the person gives the other person the
correct information.
