Queensland Consolidated Acts(1) During a period of emergency the Minister may, for the purpose of dealing with a shortage or likely shortage of liquid fuel in relation to which the emergency is declared to exist, by notification published in the gazette and in such other manner as, in the Minister's opinion, is likely to bring it to the notice of relevant persons concerned, issue directions regulating or prohibiting the supply by relevant persons in the course of their business, during a period specified in the notification, of a refined liquid petroleum product specified in the notification to persons generally or to persons included in a class of person specified in the notification.
(2) The Minister shall not issue a direction under subsection (1) if the direction would relate only to the supply of a refined liquid petroleum product to bulk customers of the relevant persons to whom the direction would be issued in relation to that product.
(3) A relevant person shall not refuse or fail to comply with a direction issued to the person under subsection (1) unless that person has reasonable excuse.
Maximum penalty--
(a) in the case of a body corporate--$10000; or
(b) in the case of an individual--$1000.
