General powers after entering a place
79 General powers after entering a place
(1) This section applies to an authorised officer who enters a place under
this division.
(2) However, if an authorised officer enters a place to get
the occupier’s consent to enter the place, this section applies to the
officer only if the consent is given or the entry is otherwise authorised.
(3) The authorised officer may do any of the following—
(a) search any part
of the place;
(b) inspect, photograph or film any part of the place or
anything at the place;
(c) copy a document at the place;
(d) take into or
onto the place any person, equipment and materials the officer reasonably
requires for the exercise of a power under this part;
(e) require the
occupier of the place, or a person at the place, to give the officer—
(i)
reasonable help to exercise the officer’s powers under paragraphs (a) to (d)
; or
(ii) information to help the officer find out whether a provision
mentioned in section 68or a prescribed requirement is being complied with.
