(1) This section applies
if the principal of a State school, or the chief executive, reasonably
believes it would be appropriate for the chief executive to exercise the
suspension power.
Example—
It would be appropriate for the chief executive
to exercise the power if the principal was prevented from doing so by the
principles of natural justice relating to bias.
(2) The chief executive may
exercise the power.
(3) Each provision of this division applies as if a
reference in the provision to the principal were a reference to the chief
executive.
