(1) An association, other than an interim parents and citizens association,
may decide to award honorary life membership of the association to a person
who is or was a member of the association.
(2) The only basis for the award
may be that the person has given long and meritorious service to the
association.
(3) The decision must be made by a two-third majority vote of
the members present at an annual general meeting of the association.
(4) A
person who is the subject of a proposed resolution to award the person
honorary life membership of an association must not—
(a) be present during
discussions about the proposal, or voting on it, at a meeting of the
association; and
(b) if the person is a member of the association—exercise
the member’s right to vote on the proposal, despite section 129(2) .
