464 Power to require name and address
(1) An authorised person may require a person to state the person’s name and
address if the authorised person—
(a) finds the person committing an offence
against this Act; or
(b) finds the person in circumstances that lead, or has
information that leads, the authorised person to suspect on reasonable grounds
that the person has committed an offence against this Act.
(2) When making
the requirement, the authorised person must warn the person that it is an
offence against this Act to fail to state the person’s name and address,
unless the person has a reasonable excuse.
(3) The authorised person may
require the person to give evidence of the correctness of the person’s name
or address if the authorised person suspects on reasonable grounds that the
name or address given is false.
